Friends

I just wanted to say how thankful I am for great friends. Today we had some neighborhood police action, and I got about 5 calls within 10 minutes. Everyone wondering what was going on... It was nice to know we all care about each other and like to share news, drama and even good gossip once in a while.
When we first moved to AZ I was unsure how I was going to like it, and I LOVE IT!! Thanks to a great ward, great friends and neighbors we have met some wonderful friends who we rely on since family isn't as close anymore.
Everyone needs great friends and even those that are far away, I still treasure our friendships, and enjoy keeping in touch.. I will forever be thankful for great friends. I hope that I am as good of a friend as you all are to me!!!

Debra, thanks for coming to let Mason play today. We had a great time chatting and I appreciate you sharing some more of your "story" with me.. I know I can always count on you for a great ward activity, or just a chat..
I'm glad my kids have great friends too!Camden is always asking "who is coming over today"? It must run in the family, we all love to have friends over, whatever the occasion!

There was a drowning in our ward, one of the bishopric members sons who was almost 2. It has been on my mind alot. Blades and I wanted to do something for them, but unsure what to do. We had a special prayer for them, and hope that they find peace, and are comforted at this time of sorrow. Thankfully, the "plan" brings peace, but it's still tough! I have talked to many of my friends about this over the weekend, and each one brings different thoughts, and it is nice to have friends to talk to about such a hard time. I realize that my life could be changed in a matter of seconds, and I need to love my kids more, worry less about the laundry and just play!

So for now, Thanks for being great friends! Everyone needs them!

Picture Tag

K TAG ... so if you are reading this,, you have to do the same ...
heres how it works.. go to your 4th picture file, 4th picture, and post it.. and explain the pic.. who is in it.. and what was going on in the pic.. and tag whom you wish!! I'm tagging all!

This picture was in San Diego, CA. It was New Years Day 07. We had decided at the last minute to go to SeaWorld to use up our ticket before the year was over, and we had a great time. My mom came with us, and we went to the beach. It was way cold, and my mom let Camden put on her sweater cause his clothes were all wet! He had a great time running on the beach with his rolled up gamma's sweater! I had Case 28 days later...

Camp Whitehouse!

Heres how we camp at the Whitehouse! Well this was a first for us, (in the backyard)! The weather was so nice out last weekend, the Sunday of General Conference, so set up the tent in the backyard and slept outside. Blades and I had great success in setting up the massive tent, and it only took us half the time it did last time to set it up.. Camden helped by pounding in the tent stakes with the bbq spatula, and Case couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was all about.

We got a new mattress for our bed, so the old one was just in our room while we figured out how we were going to get rid of it. Blades had the great idea of pulling the king size mattress out there and sleeping on it. It was quite the squeeze getting it into the tent, but it was so nice and comfy! Great idea dear!!! We had a fire, and even made smores. The marshmallows looked a little more grey ( from the smoke) in color than they should have, so we only had a few. We hosed off the fire, and headed into the tent. We took the portable dvd player out there, and watched Ms. Doubtfire. Before we went to bed, I went inside to get a few more blankets just in case we got cold. Case was wiggly all night, and kept scooting off his foam bed, so he and I went inside around 1 am, and Blades and Camden stayed til 6.. We had a great time, and Camden wants to camp outside again.

The kids have been spending lots of time outside, and its fun just to let them play in the dirt and have a great time. Why we put a sandbox right by the door is beyond me, but they have fun.. plus we have a great vacuum. Camden likes to have his lunch picnics outside on a blanket, and wants to go outside right when he wakes up. As soon as Case hears that door open, he runs and is so excited. We are gladly welcoming the fall weather. We have the windows open, and the AC off. On our way home tonight from a date we picked up the kids and driving home had the windows down... , it was 58 degrees and we were a bit chilly! Camden said he was cold. Blades said he is definatley a " desert kid".

Blades and I both love the fall, and we are looking forward to the smells, treats and weather that come along with this time of year!

Sorry about all the pictures, but they are just too cute not to share! And as soon as I figure out how to make a slide show, it will be easier!

Scrappin' Gals

I was invited by Tara to go to Cheryl's house on Friday night and scrapbook. It was way fun. We had lots of great treats, gossip and a little scrapbooking. It's a tradition when I lived in Las Vegas to scrapbook on General Conference weekends with Camie, so it was kinda fun to do it again. It was fun getting to know some girls I didn't know before.. We had fun, and want to do it again soon! I looked forward to it all week, and was nice just to have a girls night out!

TAGGED!!!

So thanks to Tara, I was tagged.. This is a first for me.. so here we go!!!!
1. I broke my foot while on my mission in Seattle, had a cast on it for 45 days in the wet rainy weather, and got it signed by Richard G. Scott ( one of the 12 apostles).
2. I love to grocery shop. When I was about 12, my mom would send me to the store with a list and money, and I would call her on the pay phone when I was done, she would come and pick me up. Once while we were in the store, the checkout lady said to me " oh this must be your mom". too funny! I still love grocery shopping by MYSELF!! I'm just starting to learn to use coupons, and can't wait to really start saving some mulah!
3. When Blades and I were talking on the internet before we met, he said he was from North Carolina, and I thought it was where North Dakota is. Let's just say I wasnt that great in geography. He kept talking about the beach, and I was very confused and could of swore that Canada was above North Dakota/Carolina. Duh Cori!

4. I love Oprah.. well a few years ago I would have these crazy dreams.. like her and I were hangin out .. she and Rachel Ray.. they asked me to go grocery shopping for them. No lie.. the dreams have stopped since :)

5. I've met some of my greatest friends, including my husband off the internet.

6. I said I would never blog, cause I thought it was a waste of time. Now look.. I'm a blogger! ( and wasting some time.. but dang its fun)
7. I was a band nerd.. played the flute, oboe, symbols in the marching band. I was in band from 6th grade til my Junior year in HS.
oh ya..
I dont like icecream!
So I'm tagging.... Jessica Wise, Debra, Alleen, Samantha, Laurel, Kati, Lari
Come on ladies.. think long and hard, and give us some good random facts!

Case's POWDER ROOM & Zoo

So on Tuesday, Samantha was coming over to chop my hair, and I wanted to look online for a few pictures of cute short haircuts. . I was obviously not fulfilling all my motherly duties and jumping online... Case decided that he was going to climb up the dresser in his room, onto the changing table.. and capture the large white bottle of baby powder, which was recently purchased. He came into the office, and was rubbing his eyes. I looked down and saw this little white whiteboy.. I should of been able to smell him coming down the hallway, but didn't.

It felt like every inch of that room was covered in the smelly white stuff. I normally wouldn't jump right to my camera, but with this new blogging stuff, I knew it was the perfect shot to share. I went on to vacuum every toy, blanket, changing table and carpet. His room had this blanket of dusty baby powder on everything! Half way down the hall, was a trail. We are off the hyper naughty meds now, so we had a great day today.
Here are a few pics from Camden's fieldtrip to the zoo.. It was over 95 degrees out and hot, so I didnt really take lots of pictures... mostly of the carousel cause it was the last thing we did before headed home! I still can't believe that my Camden is old enough to go on a field trip.. We had a great time, and look forward to many more field trips!

Camden's buddy Mason and Cori's buddy Debra!
