Camp Whitehouse!

Heres how we camp at the Whitehouse! Well this was a first for us, (in the backyard)! The weather was so nice out last weekend, the Sunday of General Conference, so set up the tent in the backyard and slept outside. Blades and I had great success in setting up the massive tent, and it only took us half the time it did last time to set it up.. Camden helped by pounding in the tent stakes with the bbq spatula, and Case couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was all about.

We got a new mattress for our bed, so the old one was just in our room while we figured out how we were going to get rid of it. Blades had the great idea of pulling the king size mattress out there and sleeping on it. It was quite the squeeze getting it into the tent, but it was so nice and comfy! Great idea dear!!! We had a fire, and even made smores. The marshmallows looked a little more grey ( from the smoke) in color than they should have, so we only had a few. We hosed off the fire, and headed into the tent. We took the portable dvd player out there, and watched Ms. Doubtfire. Before we went to bed, I went inside to get a few more blankets just in case we got cold. Case was wiggly all night, and kept scooting off his foam bed, so he and I went inside around 1 am, and Blades and Camden stayed til 6.. We had a great time, and Camden wants to camp outside again.

The kids have been spending lots of time outside, and its fun just to let them play in the dirt and have a great time. Why we put a sandbox right by the door is beyond me, but they have fun.. plus we have a great vacuum. Camden likes to have his lunch picnics outside on a blanket, and wants to go outside right when he wakes up. As soon as Case hears that door open, he runs and is so excited. We are gladly welcoming the fall weather. We have the windows open, and the AC off. On our way home tonight from a date we picked up the kids and driving home had the windows down... , it was 58 degrees and we were a bit chilly! Camden said he was cold. Blades said he is definatley a " desert kid".

Blades and I both love the fall, and we are looking forward to the smells, treats and weather that come along with this time of year!

Sorry about all the pictures, but they are just too cute not to share! And as soon as I figure out how to make a slide show, it will be easier!

how fun!! Tyler and I were just talking about that, I told him as soon as we have grass we'll do it. I know, normal camping theres no grass, but if we're gonna be a tad more comfy then I want grass! Can we borrow that mattress, just kidding :) Love the cooler weather!!!

That looks like so much fun.
and that is too funny that you guys brought out the mattress.

if you plan on making a blog book, i'd probably not do the slide show thing. i don't know if it would add those pictures in. (you could, but it would take more work) just fyi. :)
